Overview

What is worth preserving for posterity?

5th grade students at Raymond Education Campus explored the question above while participating in a Pathways to Professions program with Live It Learn It.  Students visited the U.S. Capitol and learned how conservators preserve the building and how photographers document events for our national posterity. Professional Photographer, Charles Badal, then equipped students with a camera to document elements of today's life that should be preserved for the future.  Students were challenged with capturing images that communicate one aspect of their identity that is worth preserving.

Multiple Identities

Students explored four different locations to determine elements that were worth preserving. Each location has its own identity and also requires thinking about a how a photograph can preserve an aspect of that identity.
